Lost in Translation

When thinking of The Task of the Translator, I couldn't help remember all those times in movies and books where a person or group of people are trying to connect with a different culture by way of body language coupled with ones own verbal language. How awkward and frustrating it was to imply something and be taken with a "TOTALLY DIFFERENT MEANING". Results were met with confusion, humor, and sometimes ultimately death! The history of a cultures language is definitely a golden key to healthy communication. To do without is a quest of patience and bravery.
