Hey,

Does the ability to analyse remove an individual from society, because he would be so critical? And, Is a society that evaluates advertisments from the media better off than a society where there is less media?

what I meant to ask was, if a society encounters media regularly do they have a greater mastery of logic as a 'defensive tool' against rhetoric and loggorhea than societies who dont encounter rhetoric.

I'm not sure if the ability to analyse remove an individual from society, but I think that a society that evaluates advertisments from the media is better off than a society where there is less media.

I don't think that analizing removes you from a society that you are a part of. You can only be so objective. Your experience in that society is definetly going to contribute to your decision or opinion. I feel that the media is a very important tool for communication. The message being portrayed is something that we should be critical about.
